Performance and Applications:
A combination of glycerin and hydroxystearic acid (a fatty acid derived from castor oil) is used at concentrations of 1-10% as a thickening agent and secondarily as an emollient in cosmetics. It is especially effective at thickening the oil (lipid) component of skincare or makeup products.
It is considered safe for use in skincare, hair care, and makeup products.
Recommended dosage: 1-10%.
